Xtra Maths for Term 2 Week 8

I can not believe it, that I have already finished xtra maths 3 seconds, 2 seconds and also 1.5 seconds in 8 weeks and 1 term. I am so proud of my self to make a good effort in xtra maths. Last year it use to be maths whizz me and my friend Lucy would get over 100 or 200 in one day and still go on and on until one of us gives up. But this boy called Vifoa was the man on xtra maths he would get on to about 5 or more users finished Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in 3 seconds, 2 seconds and 1.5 seconds.

Writing Motivation

Do you know what is empathy? Empathy can mean a lot of powerful words like for example, having to be respectful and kind to everyone and treat them like family. So like I said “ the word empathy means try to be, well really you have to be very kind to the people that you don’t like and always be responsible for the things that have been given to you as a gift and never backstab your friends no matter what happen or what they have done to you”.

This week the entire school has to show other people that don’t know what empathy means. So this is what empathy is telling you and everyone else not to be empathetic and how bad it hurts everyone when you say something hurtful. Pt England school have been learning about Tiaki Taonga for quite some while and we are very, very good at doing it. The teachers do it much better than us and we all respect everyone the way they respect us.

People that act like they own the world and they  don’t want to share the things that mean alot to us is just not being empathetic, so that is showing us that they don’t want us near them or touch them, its just like hogging the food that is on the table that is suppose to be shared out between the family. So this person has to give back the respect that he needs to give to his family and to apologize and to see if his family replied “ yes you may stay, just as long as you don’t do these things ever again. Be kind and don’t let your friends, family and even your neighbours.

My Writing Sample

I am in the year 7 team 2 Pt England Primary school for netball, and our year 7 team is called Roses. I also played netball last year and it was my very first time and I also enjoyed playing against the other teams too. Our team also has the same coach and her name is Miss Thompson and she has picked out our captain and vice captain for year 7 team 2. Do you know who she picked as captain and vice captain? Well I am the captain for the team and Mary Henry my best friend is vice captain.

This has got to be our 4th game throughout the entire term and we have won all of our games as well. We have only been playing grading games for the past 4 games just to see how great and wonderful we have been playing. We do not have much time to practice before the game but we do put in a lot of effort to win all of our games. Because last year we were good but we weren't good enough, not even took it serious most of them forgot that it was a game and we weren't playing friendlies too. So this year I wanted that to go in the past and win all the games and have a lot of fun but serious.

Have you ever been playing sports in a really bad weather? Well all the girls around the world that play’s Netball on Tuesday afternoons and Thursday. On Tuesday the 4th of June the girls had to play in a very, very bad weather, and not one of us wanted to get sick. So everyone made their way to the netball courts and didn’t moan or argue about the weather that they had to play in.

So once we had our 5th game we for week 6 everyone just got very, very scared because it just wasn’t a great day to play. Everyone waited for the bell to ring at 3.00 so that we could warm up and get into game mode because we don’t want to lose we want to win. We went into the hall and waited for Miss Va’afusuanga to call out the roll, to see who is going to be playing this disgusting weather tonight. She also thought that it was not fear for us to be playing in it but we all decided to play.

We all went to  the netball courts and waited for the other team to arrive so that we could start our game. So while we were waiting we had a quick warm up and did a exercise then we had 5 minutes spear so the shouters went of and practice shooting the defenders went of defending and the rest just practice passing properly. They finally arrived and we got into our positions and waited for the referee to blow the whistle.  They blew the whistle and the game began!

We had a 4/4 game and and in the 2/4 we were losing by 3 points but when we went back in the game we played our best and never gave up. That's how bad we wanted to win. So in the very last quarter we went out there and we just kept on defending, trying not to lose the ball and watching we pass the ball and to shoot up and in. At the last minute we got the last minute we got the ball in the hoop. We won by 3 points which gave us 11 and them 8.

Next level of Xtra Maths

I just can't believe it!!! I mean when I said that when I go back to school in Term 2, I would be on 1.5 seconds for xtra maths. And guess what it actually came true well it did take me 6 weeks but thats only because I had to do 2 seconds on xtra maths twice. It was quite some work to do on, maths but it is cool.

Xtra Maths and Maths Whizz

For 2014 I have finally finished my xtra maths! But last year it took my about 2 terms in a half just to get to 2 seconds but this year it only took my a couple of weeks including the holidays. So that when I go back to school in term 2 I do not need to worry about going to 2 seconds I just need to focus on getting too 1.5 seconds. I love maths and especially when it comes to maths whizz, xtra maths and making a D.L.O.

Gram went to one side o the bed. Dicey stood at the foot. Inside her, her heart was squeezed tight against her chest. She stood and stared. Her heart was squeezed so tight it broke into pieces, sharp pieces that cut against her lungs and throats and stomach. "Momma".
Excerpt:
Home. It sounded so good after the long summer of traveling with James, Sammy and Maybeth in tow. Dicey felt worn out, but happy. Life with eccentric Gran would doubtless present new worries, but she'd manage, and there was always the boat, them all from nowhere to somewhere.
Home Coming, the story of Dicey's long journey, is also in lions.

A cold morning

                                  A cold Morning:

As I woke up I felt like someone filled a big container with freezing water and shivering. When I finally got out of bed I step one foot on the ground and it felt like a floor covered with ice, like going ice skating but in bare feet. So I wondered to myself what it would look like in the outside of my house. So I looked out of my window and saw frosting ice on the grass like snow and my window was covered in melted ice. I got changed as fast as I could for school as it was only 7.30am but I wasn’t in the mood because I was so cold.
